Mentor Application

Students and Mentors Must Have/Retain Active Membership
Students must be at least 21 years of age

 

Program Overview

The program creates connections between health professional students and rural healthcare professionals. This program will include a mentor-matching program with quarterly virtual educational opportunities tailored to rural healthcare challenges and career development. The program is open to all health professional students including, but not limited to, medical, pharmacy, radiology, etc. 


 Mentor-Matching Program

  • Objective: Pair students with experienced rural healthcare professionals (e.g., physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners) to provide personalized guidance and career advice.
  • Process:
    • Students complete an online profile highlighting their interests, goals, and areas of expertise.
    • Matches are made based on specialties, career aspirations, and geographic interests.
    • Mentorship pairs will meet virtually on a mutually agreed upon time to discuss topics such as rural healthcare delivery and career development

Application Process

Once application is approved, it will be matched as soon as possible. All applications will receive a timely response letting the student and/or mentor know of potential matches.

Throughout the mentorship, ORHA will check in with both student and mentor.
