Program Overview

The program creates connections between medical students and rural healthcare professionals. This program will include a mentor-matching program with quarterly virtual educational opportunities tailored to rural healthcare challenges and career development.


 Mentor-Matching Program

  • Objective: Pair medical students with experienced rural healthcare professionals (e.g., physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners) to provide personalized guidance and career advice.
  • Process:
    • Students complete an online profile highlighting their interests, goals, and areas of expertise.
    • Matches are made based on specialties, career aspirations, and geographic interests.
    • Mentorship pairs will meet virtually on a mutually agreed upon time to discuss topics such as rural healthcare delivery and career development

Application Process

Once application is approved, it will be matched as soon as possible. All applications will receive a timely response letting the student and/or mentor know of potential matches.
